LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - After tapes worrying Mel Gibson was released earlier this month, Oksana Grigorieva sent a text to the actor, explaining why she had surreptitiously recorded their conversations, the Hollywood Reporter has learned.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Grigorieva wrote in the text that the reason she recorded the summer because "you broke your contract with me."
The source said additional e-mails are likely to be used by lawyers to prove that Gibson Grigorieva tried to use the tapes to extort money Gibson. The source adds that Grigorieva has also changed the break and seeks to reconcile.
The service in Los Angeles County sheriff's confirmed Wednesday it was investigating Grigorieva.
Based on sealed court documents reviewed by The Hollywood Reporter, it also appears that the lawyer Grigorieva family law, Manley Freid, did not help his cause.
During a hearing in June Court 22, the judge strongly criticized Freid for a temporary restraining order of the day for his client, noting in particular the failure Grigorieva to tell the court about a previous $ 15 million settlement amicably between it and Gibson.
"(His lawyer) did something truly remarkable," said a source close to the matter. "He did not disclose to the court that there was a settlement agreement between Oksana and Mel."
"The strategy Manley Freid accomplished anything," says a source familiar with the matter. "That's all there now. They pressed the nuclear button and Gibson is still essentially permanent. There is zero upside down Grigorieva in terms of money, custody and visitation. "
In other words, the overall strategy can backfire.
Steve Jaffe, a spokesman Grigorieva, had no comment. Gibson rep had no comment, his lawyer could not be reached.
The actual transcript of the proceedings on June 22 Court considered in its entirety by The Hollywood Reporter and excerpted below, reveals that the judge reprimanded for his failure Freid to inform him of the custody agreement between Grigorieva and Gibson .
J. Gordon: (to Manley Freid) at the hearing on June 22:
"My question to you is this. Why was I not mention this agreement in connection with the request for a temporary restraining order? Mr. Kolodny (Lawyer Gibson) is quite accurate. If I 'd known that the parties had an agreement, I can not give the order as I did, and I find it very disturbing that someone comes, without notice to the other side, is made for me, there including the fact that woman is so afraid of Mr. Gibson that she needs immediate protection, even if for - based on his statement, it is clear that nothing has happened in recent months.
"The things that have happened have been so horrible and it was quite understandable to me that she finally concluded that she needed a restraining order, even if the bad things that have happened passed in February.
"But nobody told me he had been agreement on the child involved, and I'm really disturbed by this." http://jodnet.blogspot.com
Freid then tried in vain to convince the court that the settlement document was irrelevant because Grigorieva has entered into the agreement because of misrepresentation and without consulting a lawyer family law:
She went into this document because of false statements to her, she was discouraged ...."
J. Gordon responded that he was not only troubled by the fact that Freid to inform the previous agreement, but he found the arguments of counsel "dishonest at best" and "very worrying".
The judge then proceeded to deny motions Freid and order the audio recordings of Gibson sealed.
